Growing up in Albuquerque, the Santa Fe Indian Market was the event to be at for an Indian Artist! I remember hearing friends and family talking about it. I always loved the idea of escaping to Santa Fe and everyone wore their finest jewelry and attire. Especially when the rail runner happened then all the Indians woke up really early to get to Santa Fe. Everyone waited with wet damped hair and breakfast burritos in hand. I couldn’t wait to go and now to see it go virtual makes me have more belief in continuing as an Indian artist in current times! The history of the Indian Market is why the Indian Market is considered the most prestige market in America! I am so glad to be apart of a enduring market that has helped me be so diverse with my art and platform. Forever I will be grateful and thankful, ahe hee.
